Topeka,KS : Topekan injured in crash when car hydroplanes Monday night on I-70 near Lawrence on August, Monday 21st 2017

A Topeka woman was injured Monday night after her car crashed on a wet roadway on the Kansas Turnpike just west of Lawrence, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 9:37 p.m. Monday on Interstate 70 on the turnpike, near the Lecompton exit.

According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, a 2008 Hyundai Elantra was traveling east on I-70 when it hydroplaned and struck a wall.

The car’s driver, Caroline Synclaire Daniels, 18, was taken to an area hospital.

The turnpike authority said Daniels, who was alone in the car, was wearing a seat belt.
