BILLINGS, MT : Ashland man killed in crash near Lame Deer on Thursday, 1st September 2016
A 69-year-old Ashland man was killed in a nearly head-on crash on U.S. Highway 212 near Lame Deer, on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the man was riding in a Ford Fusion at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday when an oncoming car driven by a 38-year-old Lame Deer woman crossed the centerline. The Billings Gazette reports the 64-year-old Ashland man driving the Fusion tried to avoid the crash, but the right front corners of the vehicles collided.
The victim, the driver of the Fusion and the woman driving the oncoming car were taken to a Billings hospital, where the victim died. His name has not been released.
An Illinois man riding a motorcycle and pulling a trailer was following behind the woman's car. He went into the ditch to avoid the crash.
