Orange, TX : 38-year-old bicyclist died in crash on Texas Highway 12 in Orange County on Sunday night, Oct 18, 2015

A 38-year-old bicyclist was killed Sunday night on Texas Highway 12 in Orange County when the driver of a Camaro apparently attempted to pass another car by using the shoulder, authorities said.
Raymond Lamar Ross, of Orange, was riding a bicycle in the eastbound shoulder of Highway 12 near Woodland Drive when the 1994 Chevrolet Camaro driven by 39-year-old Ralph Bridwell, of Vidor, struck him, said Department of Public Safety trooper Stephanie Davis.
A witness told authorities the Camaro attempted to make a pass on the shoulder before striking the bicyclist, who was following all traffic laws, Davis said.
The crash remains under investigation, Davis said.
