Lakeland,FL : Deputy on call involved in accident on September, Saturday 2nd 2017

A Polk County Sheriff’s deputy was on his way to a domestic disturbance call when he was involved in a traffic accident Saturday morning.
Deputy James Flowers was not injured, while the driver of the other car, 57-year-old Cheryl Joe of Lakeland, was taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, where she was treated and released, the Sheriff’s Office said. She was not seriously injured.
The accident happened about 10:10 a.m. Saturday at State Road 33 North and Spanish Oaks Boulevard as Flowers was on his way to an emergency call and collided with Joe’s grey 2017 Hyundai.
Joe was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said.
