Ithaca, N.Y : Pedestrians injured in a motor vehicle accident on South Meadow Street on Saturday, February 11, 2017

Ithaca police are seeking witnesses to a Saturday afternoon motor vehicle accident that injured two pedestrians on South Meadow Street.

Police responded just after noon Saturday to the 700 block of South Meadow Street for a report of an accident involving one vehicle and two pedestrians, according to the Ithaca Police Department. The pedestrians were crossing Meadow Street from east to west when the vehicle struck them, police said. The driver of the vehicle was its sole occupant.

One pedestrian was airlifted from the scene, and the second was transported by ambulance to a trauma center for treatment.

Police said the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
