Roanoke, VA : Georgia woman killed, Pennsylvania man arrested in Montgomery County wreck on Tuesday, July 4, 2017
A woman from Rome, Georgia, was killed Tuesday after a wreck in Montgomery County on Interstate 81, according to Virginia State Police.
Police said a 2004 Ford Expedition was traveling south near the 122 mile marker at about 10:25 a.m. when it ran off the right side of the road and hit a disabled 2010 Freightliner tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer was positioned on the right shoulder with warning triangles and flares displayed.
The Ford was driven by 28-year-old Travis Rush Martin of Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania. Martin was not injured.
His passenger, 27-year-old Angelina Raenae Greene, was not wearing her seat belt. She died at the scene, according to a police news release.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Martin was charged with driving with a revoked license.
