PINE TOWNSHIP, PA : Grove City man dies in mowing accident on Tuesday, June 13, 2017

Rescue workers recovered the body of a maintenance man from a pond on State Route 58 after a mowing accident Tuesday.

State police, firefighters and ambulance workers were on the scene at the John R. Huff American Legion Post 220 in Pine Township at about noon Tuesday, Pine Township Fire Chief Levi Hipps said.

Mercer County Coroner John A. Libonati identified the worker as John Walochik, 65, of Grove City. Libonati said Walochik died at 8:30 a.m. due to asphyxia by accidental drowning after the zero-turn-style riding mower he was operating slid sideways into the pond at the post.
