A Herrin man is dead after an RV crash on Interstate 70 in Vigo County, Indiana, according to a news release from the Indiana State Police.
According to the release, the preliminary investigation says Richard D. Harris, 77, was killed when his 2006 RV, which was eastbound on I-70 near Mile Marker 2, suddenly left the roadway on the south side and struck a guiderail. During the impact, Harris was ejected through the front windshield and pronounced dead at the scene.
The release states that early indications have led investigators to believe that a right front tire failure caused this crash.
