DAYTON, OH : Two drivers injured in crash at Indiana 38 and Tippecanoe County Road 900 East on Friday, 24th January, 2020
Shey James Parke drove his northbound Chevy Tahoe into the path of a westbound Allied/Republic Waste trash truck about 11:25 a.m. Friday at Indiana 38 and Tippecanoe County Road 900 East, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
The impact damaged the passenger side of Parke's Tahoe and ripped off the back left wheel and sent the Tahoe into the ditch on the northwest corner of the intersection.
Parke, 28, of Lafayette, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered life-threatening injuries, according the sheriff's office.
He was in critical condition Friday evening at IU Health Arnett Hospital, according to the sheriff's office.
The trash truck's driver, Mark Rogers, 60, of Lafayette, was taken to IU Health Arnett Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and later released, according to the sheriff's office.
Allied/Republic employees at the scene had no comment about the accident.
