Alexander City, AL : Sheldon Hinder, 54, killed when car crashes into tree, burns on Coosa County 20 on Monday, May 30, 2016

A single-vehicle crash Monday claimed the life of an Alex City man, state troopers reported.

Sheldon Hinder, 54, was killed when the 1991 Mazda Miata he was driving left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire.

Hinder was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred at 12:25 p.m. on Coosa County 20.

No further details were available Monday night as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
