A Bronson man died Monday after his tractor-trailer hauling cement powder was hit by a FedEx van, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Kenneth A. Holder, 58, was traveling on south U.S. 27, approaching Alachua County Road 241 at 3:20 p.m., according to an FHP press release.

A FedEx van, driven by Andre A. Whitaker, 24, of Ocala, was driving south on 241 and tried to cross U.S. 27 in front of the tractor-trailer without coming to a full stop, the release said.
