York, NE : Drivers escape wreck shaken but otherwise OK on Monday, 22nd August, 2016
Two out-of-town drivers, one from Benedict and the other from Shelby, crossed paths Monday morning at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Second Street.
A Chevy Equinox suffered obvious and substantial impact damage; however its driver, Kimberly Hablitzel, 59, of Shelby, though shaken by the close call, exited the vehicle and walked away without assistance.
Brent Hager, 36, of Benedict, driver of the 2000 Ford pickup was similarly shook up but also ambulatory.
Neither driver was transported to the hospital; however both were checked at the scene by a York Fire Department ambulance crew.
Police Chief Don Klug said Hablitzel was westbound on Second Street and Hager was traveling south on Lincoln Avenue. Klug reported that Hablitzel was ticketed for failure to lead.
