Nashville, TN : Ulysses man killed Wednesday night when car collides with semi hauling tanker of milk in Finney County on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016
One person was killed and another person was injured when a car collided with a semitrailer Wednesday night in Finney County, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 8:20 p.m. on US-83 highway at Plymell Road, or 12 miles south of US-50 highway.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon was westbound on Plymell Road when it ran a stop sign at US-83.
The Hyundai collided with a 2010 Peterbilt tractor-trailer that was southbound on US-83, striking the vehicle on its passenger side.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Kyle Pelton, 24, of Ulysses, was taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, where he was pronounced dead. The patrol said Pelton was wearing a seat belt.
The tractor driver, Matthew L. Cook, 46, was reported injured and also was taken to St. Catherine Hospital. The patrol said he was wearing a seat belt.
Cook’s tractor was pulling a tanker loaded with milk, the patrol said.
