BAY COUNTY, FL : Pedestrian killed in early morning crash on Sunday, 1st April 2018

A pedestrian lying in the roadway was struck by an oncoming vehicle Sunday morning, according to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol.

Ryan Blake Lindsey, 33, of Lynn Haven was traveling south on US 231 near Julie Road in a 1998 Dodge Durango around 4:12 a.m. Sunday when he struck a 40-year-old female pedestrian lying in the roadway.

The pedestrian was in the roadway in the outside lane of southbound US 231. Lindsey did not notice the pedestrian in ample time to take evasive action, the release said.

Lindsey struck the pedestrian, who is from Hialeah, with the tires and undercarriage portion of the Dodge Durango.

The pedestrian’s name has not been released pending next of kin notification.

Charges are pending further investigation.
