Houston, TX : Hardin ISD school bus involved in crash with van on Friday, 9th September 2016
No students were seriously injured when a van and a school bus collided Friday morning in Liberty.
According to an EMT on the scene, the bus was carrying children of all grades to school Friday morning, when the incident involving Bus No. 47 occurred just east of the intersection of Highway 105 and Highway 146 near Moss Hill.
It is unknown what caused the accident. The bus was turning right off of Highway 105 onto highway 2069-5 when the van slammed into the back of it.Students were treated at the scene and transported to Harden High for further evaluation. Students will be released to their parents or their classroom.
The driver of the van was uninjured.
Cheryl Gillespie said her daughter was stepping onto the bus at the time of the crash. Gillespie said the bus moved forward about 10 feet and there was glass all over the ground.
Carlos Chavez, who lives nearby, said he heard the crash and ran out worried because his grandkids ride the bus.
