A six-vehicle crash during the morning commute at one of Jackson's busiest intersections sent four people to Allegiance Health, police say.

Jackson police at the scene said the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

A blue Ford F-150 truck, burgundy Dodge Durango, black Chevrolet sedan, gold Chrysler sedan, green Chevrolet pickup and a white Chevrolet truck, hauling a trailer were involved in the wreck at Cooper Street and Michigan Avenue.

Bumpers, car parts and shattered glass were scattered throughout the intersection as officers worked to clean the area close to 8 a.m. Thursday.

The Durango's bumper could be seen hanging on the pavement, the gold sedan sustained severe back-end damage, and the green Chevy truck sustained damage to the driver's side.

The Ford pickup was the furthest away from the other five vehicles on the divide near the Amtrak station, 501 E. Michigan Ave.

The Jackson police and fire departments were assisted at the scene by Jackson Community Ambulance.
