WICHITA, KS : 1 person killed, another critically hurt in northwest Wichita crash on Wednesday, 27th October, 2020

A teenager has died and two other people were injured in a crash in northwest Wichita on Wednesday.

It happened shortly before noon at Tyler Road and 9th Street, which is just south of Northwest High School. A dispatch supervisor said there was one fatality. A second person suffered critical injuries and a third had minor injuries.

Capt. Brent Allred with the Wichita Police Department later said the driver of a red car was traveling at a high rate of speed with his 14-year-old daughter in the car. The vehicle hit a dip, became airborne and collided with a black pickup. The car then spun and hit a second pickup.

The 14-year-old girl died at the scene. Her 38-year-old father suffered critical injuries, and one person in one of the trucks was treated for minor injuries.
