A woman is dead and a 17-year-old girl is in serious condition after a two-car, head-on crash Thursday on Johnson Road on the Far West Side, Columbus police said.
Police were called around 6 p.m. to Johnson Road, west of Big Run Road South. The woman, whose identity has not been confirmed yet, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:18 p.m.One dead, one serious after after Far West Side crash

A woman is dead and a 17-year-old girl is in serious condition after a two-car, head-on crash Thursday on Johnson Road on the Far West Side, Columbus police said.
Police were called around 6 p.m. to Johnson Road, west of Big Run Road South. The woman, whose identity has not been confirmed yet, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:18 p.m.
The teen was initially taken in life-threatening condition to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center but was later upgraded to serious condition, said Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Columbus police accident investigation unit.
Johnson Road is located south of the Bolton Field Airport. A section of Johnson Road between Big Run Road South and Smartweed Lane was closed for hours as investigators tried to determine how the crash occurred.
