Columbus,OH : Rollover crash in Lorain leaves woman in critical condition on Monday, December, 4th 2017
A 37-year-old woman transported by emergency helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland was in critical condition on Dec. 4 following a two-car rollover crash at the intersection of Seneca Avenue and East 31st Street in Lorain.
According to Kyle Gelenius of the Lorain Police Department Traffic Bureau, about 12:30 p.m. a 17-year-old male driving a 2001 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Seneca Avenue when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of East 31st Street, colliding with a maroon 2008 Chevrolet Uplander driven by a 37-year-old female, which subsequently rolled over.
The driver of the Uplander had to be extricated from the vehicle by cutting off the roof. She will be facing a charge of driving without an operator’s license.
The male juvenile driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. The driver is expected to be charged, and the crash remains under investigation, Gelenius said.
A 17-year-old female passenger in the Honda was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain with minor injuries.
