An 83-year-old man is in the hospital after being hit by a car.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at 3:49 p.m. Friday on O’Neil Road in Beekmantown. Deputies say Brandon Burl, 22, struck Robert Seymour, who entered the roadway from the western shoulder of the road.

Seymour was taken to the hospital for a head injury, as well as fractures to both wrists and ankles. He is reported to be in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing and no tickets have been issued at this time.
