CHESHIRE, CT : Fatal crash closes Interstate 84 in Cheshire for four hours on Tuesday, June 27, 2017

Traffic was at a standstill for four hours on Interstate 84 east Tuesday as emergency crews cleared the scene of a fatal crash involving several cars and a motorcycle.

State police have not released the identity of the person who was killed, or the cause of the crash.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 4:45 p.m. to the area of the Interstate 691 east interchange. The crash temporarily closed Interstate 84 between exits 26 and 27.
Traffic congestions stretched as far back as exit 23. The highway was reopened around 8:45 p.m.
