RUTLAND, VT : Crash causes propane leak in Rutland Town on Monday, 24h June 2024

Police say a crash caused a propane leak in Rutland Town.

It happened Monday night at the Green Mountain Plaza.

Rutland Police Chief Ed Dumas says a woman mistakenly thought her car was in park and it rolled into one of the 1,000-gallon tanks behind the Taco Bell.

Dumas said no one was injured and crews including the fire department and state hazmat team contained the spill.

The Hampton Inn and some nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
