KITTITAS, WA : A Bonney Lake woman was injured in a morning crash on Wednesday, June 13, 2017
A Bonney Lake woman was injured in a Wednesday morning crash between a sport utility vehicle and a semi truck on Interstate 90, the Washington State Patrol reported.
The crash was reported shortly before 10 a.m. 11 miles east of Kittitas.
Tianna Bishop, 18, was taken to KVH Hospital in Ellensburg, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Troopers said Bishop was a passenger in a Ford Explorer.
The Explorer's driver -- Samantha Cushman, 18, of Bonney Lake -- tried to pass the semi truck and lost control, hitting the rear of the big rig, according to a patrol news release.
The Explorer rolled and landed on its top.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Intoxicants were not involved, the news release said.
All occupants were wearing seat belts, the release said.
No other injuries were reported.
The semi was driven by a British Columbia man.
