Lakeland, FL : 28-year-old woman died after Polk County crash on Sunday morning, January 24, 2016

A 28-year-old Lakeland woman died Sunday morning after her vehicle crashed into a tractor trailer in Polk County at about 5:50 a.m., troopers say.

Idania Cazarrubis, was driving a 2000 Jeep SUV east on State Road 600, according to Florida Highway Patrol. At the same time, 50-year-old Raymond Harris of Plant City was headed west on that road, with dairy products in tow, troopers said.

The SUV then traveled into westbound traffic and struck the tractor trailer, causing a fuel tank to rupture, said spokesman Sgt. Steve Gaskins in a press release.

The fuel tank then caught fire for a short time, Gaskins said.

It was unclear why the Jeep moved into the wrong lane.

Cazarrubis was pronounced dead at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, where she was taken after the crash. Harris was not injured.
