MEMPHIS, TN : Man killed after walking into traffic on Saturday, 17th September 2016
A 60-year-old man is dead after he hit by a vehicle at Macon Road and Greenbrook Parkway late Saturday night.
Witnesses at the scene told police the man was standing on the sidewalk and described him as acting awkward.
Witnesses then said the man waked into traffic and just stood there.
He was then hit by a vehicle traveling on Macon Road, according to the police report.
The victim was taken to Baptist East Hospital in extremely critical condition, where he later died.
Officers said due to insufficient lighting on the roadway and the victim not using the crosswalk, the driver of the vehicle will not be charged for the accident. However, due to the driver having a revoked license, the driver was charged with driving while license suspended/revoked/canceled.
