Tucson, AZ : Bicyclist seriously injured in Tucson midtown crash on Friday, April 22, 2016

A bicyclist was seriously injured in a crash Friday in Tucson's midtown, police said.

The bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman in a Tweet.

Southbound traffic on North Wilmot Road is shut down between East Pima and East Lee streets, Dugan said.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area.
