Powdersville ,SC : I-85 North reopened after tractor-trailer crash on Friday morning ,July 3rd 2015

A crash involving an overturned tractor trailer shut down I-85 North near exit 40 Friday morning.

According to the SC Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:30 a.m.

All northbound lanes were blocked as crews worked to clear the wreckage.

Firefighters at the scene said the crash involved the a tanker truck carrying a polyethylene compound and a Dodge Durango.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital with injuries, firefighters said. The driver of the Durango wasn't hurt.

Some of the flammable compound the tanker was carrying leaked onto the roadway but firefighters said it was contained.

Troopers said detours had been set up on the exit ramps and first responders at the scene were directing traffic.

Around 5 p.m., the South Carolina Highway Patrol said all lanes on I-85 North were reopened.
