WASILLA, AK : One person injured in two-vehicle collision involving moose on Glenn Highway on Friday, 7th October 2016
One person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash involving a moose on the Glenn Highway Friday morning.
According to Alaska State Troopers, a moose crossed the southbound lanes of the highway near the interchange and was hit by a vehicle at around 6:46 a.m. The body of the moose then flew into the northbound lanes where it impacted a Valley Mover bus.
One of the occupants in the first vehicle became entrapped as a result of the collision. Firefighters arrived on scene and extricated the person, transporting them to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, troopers say.
The northbound lanes were shut down for a short time while first responders worked the scene. The highway was fully reopened at around 8 a.m. according to a tweet by the Mat-Su Borough.
