South Shore, South Dakota
A two-car collision between people with no insurance at the Metra tracks delayed service and left two cars demolished on Wednesday afternoon on the South Side.
No one was hurt during the wreck, which happened shortly before 4 p.m. in the 7600 block of South Exchange Avenue, in the South Shore neighborhood.
“Trains are back moving again,'' Metra spokesman Tom Miller said about 6:20 p.m.
Miller added the situation briefly affected the South Chicago branch along the Metra Electric Line.
A 28-year-old woman behind the wheel of a Chevrolet was eastbound on 76th Street and plowed into another Chevrolet driven by a 34-year-old man that was southbound on Exchange, said Officer Steve Rusanov, a police spokesman.
