Elwood City, PA : 60-year-old man killed when all-terrain vehicle Crash in western Pennsylvania on Friday, Nov 27, 2015

A 60-year-old man has died after crashing his all-terrain vehicle into a pond in western Pennsylvania.

The Beaver County coroner's office says the victim was 60-year-old Robert Wright, of Claysville.

He was driving the ATV near an old strip mine in Franklin Township, Beaver County, about 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

The crash happened about 4 p.m. Friday.

Wright crashed off the trail and into the pond and his body was pinned beneath the vehicle. A passenger was also hurt and flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, though that person's name wasn't immediately released.

A bystander found Wright's body, but was unable to pull him from the water in time.

Authorities are investigating whether others were in a group riding with Wright, and whether they left the scene after the crash.
