STATEN ISLAND, NY : Man killed in Travis motorcycle wreck identified on Sunday, September 24th 2017
The man who was killed in Sunday's motorcycle crash was identified a 28-year-old Matthew Randazzo.Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that the Rossville resident was riding his 2002 Honda motorcycle southbound on West Service Road when he struck the rear of a box truck north of Victory Boulevard around 11:03 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found Randazzo unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to his body, police said.
EMS responded and transported the man to Staten Island University Hospital in Prince's Bay where he was pronounced deceased.
The operator of the box truck fled the scene, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
