ST. PETERSBURG, PA : Man dies after St. Petersburg motorcycle scooter crash on Sunday, 21st July 2019

A man who crashed into a car on his scooter in St. Petersburg died of his injuries Sunday, police said.

David Cavaletto, 49, was driving a yellow Yongfu Machine scooter without a helmet Friday after 11 p.m. As he traveled east on 18th Avenue S., Tyiesha Watson, 29, was driving her Chevy Impala west and trying to turn into the southbound lane of 28th Street S., according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

After waiting for a car to pass, Watson made a left turn onto 28th Street S, right in front of Cavaletto's scooter. He crashed into the passenger side of the Impala and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed in the accident, but the investigation is ongoing.
