Newport News, VA : A driver suffered a medical condition and crash on Tuesday, August 15, 2017

A driver suffered a medical condition and crashed an SUV into a building in Central Newport News Tuesday morning, an official said.

Firefighters and police responded to the crash at Jefferson Avenue and Bellwood Road shortly after 10:45 a.m.There, they found the SUV that struck the side of the H&H Truck Center building causing structural damage, Battalion Chief Matthew Haraburda said at the scene. The SUV also drove through a fence before hitting the building, he said.

The driver did not suffer injuries in the crash, but opted to seek treatment for his medical condition on his own, Haraburda said. No other injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
