Columbus,OH : 3 lanes re-open NB I-75 in Cincinnati on may, tuesday 9th 2017
The left three lanes are open again on northbound Interstate 75 near Linn Street after a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer snarled traffic in Cincinnati and northern Kentucky most of the morning.
The semi spilled its load of electronics across all lanes of the highway about 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Cincinnati police spokesman Lt. Steve Saunders said shortly before 8:30 a.m. all but one lane would be closed until 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m., but crews opened the highway up much sooner.
Two southbound lanes also were closed for about three hours earlier.
They are back open, but the crash has resulted in multiple traffic problems for interstate drivers in Cincinnati and northern Kentucky.Delays earlier were past two hours, or 144 minutes, on northbound I-71/75 into Downtown from Dixie Highway.
Motorists are advised to detour around the area until further notice by taking:
Eastbound I-275 to northbound I-471 out of Northern Kentucky to get into downtown Cincinnati via northbound I-71. To continue north, stay on I-71 and take either westbound Norwood Lateral or westbound I-275 to return to northbound I-75
Northbound I-71 along Fort Washington Way and exit into downtown Cincinnati from northbound I-71.
5th Street exit into Covington and cross the Ohio River into downtown Cincinnati via the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge.
The semi driver suffered an arm injury in the crash, police said.
He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is expected to recover, they confirmed.
Saunders said he had no further details on the crash or its cause.
It's also not clear if the semi driver will be cited.
