WILLOWS, CA : Driver flown to hospital with major injuries after crash at Thunderhill Raceway on Wednesday, 17th February 2021

A driver was life-flighted to the hospital with major injuries after a crash at the Thunderhill Raceway in Glenn County Wednesday morning.

First responders arrived at the Thunderhill Raceway just before 10:30 a.m. Once on scene, they located a racecar suspended between a concrete wall and a chain-linked fence – with the driver stuck inside.

The Willows Fire Department utilized their new electronic extrication equipment to safely free the driver. Officials said the driver was then flown to Enloe Medical Center with major injuries.
