An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured Sunday when he was hit by a car in Wilmington, city police said.
He was hit about 2 p.m. in the 1300 block of W. Sixth St., Sgt. Andrea Janvier said.
The boy was found in the street, suffering from head and leg injuries, Janvier said.
New Castle County paramedics treated the boy at the scene and transported him with emergency medical services from St. Francis Hospital to Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Rockland, Paramedic Cpl. Sgt. Michael A. McColley said.
The boy was listed in serious condition, he said.
No other details were available Sunday night, Janvier said, but the collision remains under investigation.
