Akron, OH : Akron high-speed police chase ends in crash Thursday November 5 2015

A high-speed car chase in Akron ended in a crash Thursday night, Akron police told newsnet5.com.
The incident began around 6 p.m. Thursday when Akron police spotted a 2004 silver Kia without its headlights on. Police activated their sirens, but the driver of the KIA -- later identified as 38-year-old William Walker Jr. of Akron--took off at a high rate of speed going eastbound on West Cedar Street in Akron.
As Walker approached the Akron General at Locust Street speeding towards downtown Akron, police called off the chase. Police said Walker continued driving at a high rate of speed, running a red light at Main and Cedar.
According to police, the driver then attempted to run another red light but t-boned a Mazda vehicle at the intersection of East Cedar and South Broadway.
