Walker, LA : One dead, three injured in car crash near North Corbin Road on Sunday afternoon, December 4, 2016

One person died and three others were injured in a two-car collision Sunday afternoon in Walker on Florida Boulevard near North Corbin Road.

One of the vehicles crossed the center line on Florida Boulevard around 3:30 p.m. and hit the other vehicle, but the reason remains unknown, said Walker Police Captain John Sharp. Both vehicles carried two passengers.

The two drivers and the injured passenger were properly wearing seat belts and have been transported to an area hospital, Sharp said. Their identities and conditions have not been released.

The passenger who was pronounced dead at the scene was not properly wearing a seat belt.

Florida Boulevard remained closed for about 2½ hours.
