Madison, WI : 2 die in Rock County crash involving semi truck on Sunday, January, 21st 2018
Two people died and four were seriously injured early Sunday morning from a multiple vehicle collision on the Interstate in Rock County, the Wisconsin State Patrol said.
A Chevrolet Suburban in the right lane of I-43 near the village of Clinton was moving south slowly with its hazard lights on, the State Patrol said. The driver of a semi truck headed in the same direction did not see the Suburban and struck the vehicle's rear end around 3 a.m.
The semi rolled on its side from the collision, sending the truck into the ditch and leaving the trailer blocking part of the Interstate, according to the State Patrol.
Soon after, a pickup truck also going south crashed into the semi's overturned trailer. Two occupants in the pickup truck died and one was critically injured, the State Patrol said.
Three occupants of the Suburban were seriously injured, and the semi driver was uninjured from the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
