Fort Smith, AR :Thanksgiving Day wreck in Fort Smith kills one, injures three on Saturday, November 26th 2016
A Fort Smith woman was killed Thanksgiving Day when she allegedly swerved into traffic on Rogers Avenue, injuring several passengers in a van that included two children.
Shreoshi Wright, 26, died from extensive injuries after the accident in the 4000 block of Rogers Avenue near Cambridge Apartments at 2:50 p.m. According the Fort Smith Police Department, Wright was driving her vehicle at a “high rate of speed” headed east, and then “for an unknown reason suddenly turned into oncoming traffic.”
Wright’s 2004 Honda Accord collided into Celia Gomez's westbound 2001 Honda Odyssey with her two young children.
”All three occupants of the van were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” a Fort Smith Police Department news release states. “One child was referred to Arkansas Children's Hospital for further testing.”
