Sparks ,NV : Two Seriously injured in single vehicle crash after struck and embankment along Pyramid Highway on Wednesday,April 22 2015
Two people were seriously injured after a single vehicle crash on Pyramid Highway Wednesday, according to Nevada Highway Patrol officials.
Troopers from NHP were dispatched to a rollover crash that occurred on State Route 445 (Pyramid Highway) near Ironwood Dr. approximately 18 miles North of Sparks.
NHP officials said a car carrying two men was traveling southbound on Pyramid Highway when the driver lost control, struck and embankment, rolled, and ejected both occupants.
The 2001 gold Ford Focus was driven by 23-year-old Randy A. Hicks Jr. -- 21 year old Nicholas G. Guevara was his passenger.
Hicks was transported to Renown Medical Center by Care Flight with serious life-threatening injuries Guevara was transported to Renown by REMSA with serious injuries. NHP said neither occupant was wearing their seatbelts.
Alcohol and or drugs are being investigated as a factor in the cause of this accident.
This area of Pyramid Highway is a no passing zone with one lane in each direction and the speed limit is 70 mph.
