Parkersburg,IA : One injured in crash outside Parkersburg on September, Thursday 21th 2017

A Parkersburg man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Butler County on Thursday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 34-year-old Brent Hovenga was driving a 1985 Chevrolet Blazer east on Highway 57 near Ridge Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. when he allegedly failed to judge the speed of a Ford F-150 pickup that was pulling a tractor heading in the same direction.

The Blazer and tractor collided with the Blazer rolling into the south ditch, according to the State Patrol.

Crews with Parkersburg Ambulance transported Hovenga to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

The pickup driver, 69-year-old Neal Schrage of Parkersburg, wasn’t injured.
