Clarendon, VT : No serious injury in two-car crash on Walker Mountain Road Wednesday morning, May 11, 2016

Police said nobody was badly hurt in a crash on Walker Mountain Road Wednesday morning.

Vermont State Police said Lara Loughlin, 22, of Dorset, was driving her 2007 Volvo S-40 westbound when she went left of center over the double yellow lines, into the path of the eastbound 2010 Honda CRV driven by Shelly Nemeth, 42, of Tinmouth. Loughlin said she was trying to avoid a small animal, according to police.

Police said the vehicles “collided in an offset head-on type crash.”

Nemeth suffered “minor bumps and bruises,” according to police, but two teenagers in the back of her car were unhurt. Police attributed the lack of serious injury to the fact that everyone was wearing a seat belt.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene due to extensive damage.

The crash remains under investigation.
