Montgomery, AL : Two-year-old killed in fatal crash in Interstate 85 Parkway and Wares Ferry Road on Sunday February 7 2016

Montgomery police say a two-year-old has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash that happened on Interstate 85 Sunday morning between Chantilly Parkway and Wares Ferry Road.
MPD spokeswoman Lt. Denise Barnes says Georgia resident Elijah Baird was killed when the 2014 Nissan Versa she was a passenger in left the roadway and struck a 1998 tractor trailer. Elijah was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say the tractor trailer was disabled and parked off the right shoulder in the northbound lanes when the crash happened around 6:45 a.m.
Accident investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
