Maryland State Police say a Beltsville man was killed in a hit-and-run crash involving a pickup truck equipped with a snow plow.
In a news release, police said the GMC truck was traveling northbound on Route 1 near Naples Avenue early Thursday when it hit the man and did not stop.
Police say the man, identified as 51-year-old Salvador Jeremias Rivera Loza, died at the scene.
State police say charges are pending after Laurel police stopped a truck similar to one witnesses described and witnesses verified that it was the truck involved in the crash.
Police say there's no indication that alcohol or drugs are factors in the crash, but it had been snowing.
The investigation is continuing.
