Magnolia, MS : 57-year-old Willie Thomas died hits tree in deadly accident on I-55 in Pike County on Monday morning, March 28, 2016

On March 28 at 6:52 a.m. troopers responded to an accident on I-55 in Pike County.

57-year-old Willie Thomas from Magnolia was traveling north on I-55 in a 2004 Honda Accord.

The car ran off the right shoulder of the road.

According to Corporal Brandon Fortenberry, the driver over corrected and went through the median/guard rails crossing the south bound lane of traffic.

The vehicle slammed into a tree on the west side of Interstate 55.

The driver was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
