A Penn State student was taken to the hospital Saturday morning after a crash.
The crash occurred at about 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of North Patterson Street and West College Avenue, the State College Police Department said.
Maria Lisiecka, a foreign exchange student, was the passenger in a car being driven by Pavel Mazirka, police said.
While traveling southbound on North Patterson Street, Mazirka ran a stop sign at the intersection of West College Avenue.
Gregory Fasick was driving westbound on West College Avenue, police said, when Mazirka entered the intersection.
Fasick tried to brake, but struck Mazirka's car on the driver's side rear door, police said.
Lisiecka was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by ambulance after complaints of head and neck pain and reported inability to hear out of her left ear, police said.
Lisiecka told police she had been wearing a seat belt, police said, but the side curtain airbag did not deploy on her side of the car.
