Chardon, OH : Four people injured after Fire truck, SUV collide in northeast Ohio on Thursday afternoon, March 5, 2015
Authorities say three firefighters and another driver were hurt when a firetruck responding to a call was struck head-on by a sport utility vehicle in northeastern Ohio.
The injured drivers of the Munson Township firetruck and the SUV were rushed to a hospital after the crash in Geauga County on Thursday afternoon. The SUV driver was reported to have serious injuries. The township fire department described the truck driver’s injuries as minor.
Two other firefighters were taken to a hospital and released.
State troopers said a minivan had pulled over to yield to the oncoming firetruck, which was using its lights and sirens. The SUV hit the minivan from behind, then collided with the firetruck.
Authorities said the van driver wasn’t seriously hurt.
