AVON, MA : Easton man killed, 6 others injured in 4-vehicle accident in Avon on Saturday, March 25th 2017
An Easton man was killed and six others were injured after a four-vehicle crash Saturday night on Harrison Boulevard, just off Route 24.
John Voltolini, age 60, of South Easton was driving his BMW automobile westbound on Harrison Boulevard when at about 10 p.m., for reasons that remain under investigation, his vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane, crashing into three other vehicles, according to a statement from the Norfolk District Attorney's office.
Voltolini was ejected from one vehicle and killed. Six others were injured in the accident and were transported to hospitals.
A total of four vehicles were involved in the crash, including a a Pontiac van, a Toyota sedan and a Honda CRV. The vehicles were scattered about the roadway at the scene with severe damage and pointed in opposite directions. Debris ripped from the vehicles littered the roadway.
Three passengers of the van were transported to a hospital, as was one from the Toyota ad two from the Honda.When contacted on Sunday, family members were grieving and reluctant to talk. There is no information available yet as to the identities or conditions of the survivors in the accident or its cause, which remains under investigation by the Avon Police with participation from the Norfolk District Attorney's Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit and Massachusetts State Police, according the statement.?
No charges have been filed at this time.
