Shelton, WA : 20-year-old woman killed and two others injured in a head-on collision on Highway 101 on Sunday, February 15, 2015
A 20-year-old Shelton woman was killed in a head-on collision early Sunday on Highway 101 that sent two others to the hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Investigating Trooper Joshua J. Merritt identified the dead woman as Breanna Renee Atwell. A passenger in her car, identified as Samuel John Roark III, 22, of Shelton, was transferred to Mason General Hospital. A nursing supervisor said Roark was treated and transferred but declined to say where.
Merritt said Atwell was northbound at 1:26 a.m. two miles southwest of Shelton when a southbound car, driven by Severiano Lopez, 20, address unavailable, crossed the centerline and struck her head-on. He was taken to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia and transferred to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Merritt said Atwell was dead at the scene. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
